From Session – March 19, 2020

First Presbyterian Church, Bandon
From Session – March 19, 2020

Dear Friends,

These are challenging and unsettling times for all of us. Not only are we in the transition from one Pastor to another, we are now facing an international health crisis. Session met today and after careful discernment and discussion, the following decisions were made.

Church Office & Building – We will be following the recommendations of CDC, WHO, Presbytery of the Cascades and mandates from the State of Oregon.  The church building will remain closed to all parishioners and the public, with the exception of essential staff, until April 28. There will be NO Sunday services. If you are in need of pastoral care, please call Marjene MacIntyre, 541-347-7269 or 541-290-9085. If she cannot be reached, please call one of the following Session members: Penny Allen – 541-290-5694; Walt Dodrill –541- 297-0747; Kathy Doss – 541-347-3952; Art Roberson – 541-551-1696; Bill Russell – 541-290-8595

Communication – Communication about the changing conditions will be of utmost priority. The Church Newsletter will continue to be published. Read it carefully and stay informed. E-mail, for those who have given us their e-mail address, will be used as a means of informing the congregation with updates as the situation changes. Those without e-mail will be contacted by phone or snail mail.

Financial Support 1st Presbyterian Church Bandon will still need to meet it’s financial obligations throughout these uncertain times. We will continue to pay our staff. Pledges/Donations may be handled in a variety of ways:

  • Checks may be mailed to the church: 1st Presbyterian Church, 592 Edison Ave SW, Bandon, OR 97411
  • On-Line Banking. If you use on-line banking, you can set up an account for 1st Presbyterian Church and have the bank mail a check. Contact your bank for instructions.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and May God Bless us all
