WHAT WE DO
We support the general mission of our denomination in western Oregon, across the US, and around the world, including several special missionaries serving in South Africa, Colombia, Central Asia, France and Russia.
Ecumenically, we support the work of the Bandon Ministerial Association and Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. Through the BMA and the Bandon Police Department, we offer transient aid, as well as emergency assistance to local residents. We also hold ecumenical community worship services of various types—5th Sunday Singspirations, Holy Week, Thanksgiving and Christmas study and worship, community cantatas and Baccalaureate services for Bandon High School graduates.
Locally, we support the Bandon Good Neighbors Food Distribution program, South Coast Hospice, Coos Co. Habitat for Humanity, Coos Co. CASA, the Women’s Safety and Resource Center, the MOMS program and the Cancer Treatment Center at Bay Area Hospital, and T.H.E. House with donations, material gifts, and volunteers.
We prepare “Street Survival Bags” filled with various food items, toiletries, & essential supplies for members to carry in their cars to give to anyone we meet asking for assistance on the street.
We have a close relationship with the Bandon School District, providing school supplies, monthly funds for special student needs and occasional gifts of appreciation for the faculty and staff.
Through our Educational Gift Fund, we offer active participants of our church financial gifts to support their higher education efforts.
On our own site, in addition to the church’s many activities, we host quite a number of community organizations and events: Randolph Club, community concerts, a summer cycling group from the Univ. of Illinois that raises funds for cancer research, a youth music class, Bandon Playhouse rehearsals, Bandon Arts Council meetings, and other special events.
